1st Cherry Burton Scout Group gives young people the opportunity to have fun, try new things, make friends and enjoy great adventures as part of Scouts.
Based at Cherry Burton Scout Hut, the Group welcomes young people from Cherry Burton and the surrounding villages, providing a varied programme of activities, challenges and experiences throughout the year.
Our Sections
1st Cherry Burton provides Scouting for young people aged 4 to 14, across four sections:
- Squirrels – ages 4 to 6 (not currently open but looking for volunteers, to start this section)
- Beavers – ages 6 to 8
- Cubs – ages 8 to 10½
- Scouts – ages 10½ to 14
Each section has its own programme designed around the age and interests of its young people, with plenty of opportunities to progress through the Group as they get older.
What We Get Up To
No two weeks at Scouts are quite the same!
Young people at 1st Cherry Burton get involved in a huge variety of activities, from camping, outdoor adventures and exploring the local area to games, challenges, cooking, crafts and learning new skills.
Throughout their time with us, young people have opportunities to work towards badges and awards, take on challenges, develop their independence and discover things they may never have tried before.
And, of course, there\’s plenty of fun along the way!
More Than Just a Weekly Meeting
Being part of 1st Cherry Burton opens the door to opportunities beyond our regular section meetings.
Our young people can take part in camps, activity days, trips and events alongside other Scouts from across Beverley & Hornsea and further afield.
Whether it\’s their first night away from home or their next big adventure, there\’s always something new to look forward to.
Our Volunteer Team
Everything we do is made possible by an enthusiastic team of volunteers who give their time to help create brilliant experiences for our young people.
You don\’t need to have been a Scout before to volunteer with us. There are lots of ways to get involved, whether that\’s helping regularly at section meetings, sharing a particular skill or lending a hand behind the scenes.
Whatever time you can give, there\’s a place for you in Scouts.
