1st Hornsea Scout Group gives young people in Hornsea and the surrounding area opportunities to have fun, make friends, challenge themselves and experience everything Scouts has to offer.
Our young people are encouraged to get involved, try new things and develop their confidence in a welcoming and supportive environment.
Our Sections
1st Hornsea provides Scouting for young people aged 4 to 14, across four sections:
- Squirrels – ages 4 to 6
- Beavers – ages 6 to 8
- Cubs – ages 8 to 10½
- Scouts – ages 10½ to 14
Each section has its own programme designed around the age and interests of its young people, with plenty of opportunities to progress through the Group as they get older.
What We Get Up To
There\’s much more to Scouts than you might expect!
Our programme can include games, outdoor activities, cooking, crafts, challenges, community activities and learning practical skills.
We make the most of opportunities to get outdoors and explore our local area, while giving young people experiences they might not get anywhere else.
Along the way, they\’ll work towards badges and awards while developing teamwork, independence and confidence.
More Than Just a Weekly Meeting
Weekly meetings are only the beginning.
Camps and nights away give young people opportunities to enjoy bigger adventures with their friends, while trips, activity days and events allow them to experience even more of what Scouts has to offer.
Our young people can also join events alongside Scouts from across Beverley & Hornsea and the wider Scouting community.

1st Hornsea is powered by volunteers from the local community.
You don\’t need to be an outdoor expert or have been involved in Scouts before. What matters is being willing to get involved and help create great opportunities for young people.
There are flexible ways to volunteer both directly with our young people and behind the scenes.
