Well done to everyone in the District. We were the first District in Humberside County to have everyone complete their new Safety learning. This is a great step to ensuring our programmes and activities are run properly and safely within the District.
A reminder that any incidents involving external medical support must be reported to Scouts HQ. This includes but is not limited to the dentist, the doctors, ambulance, police, etc.

Could you be Woodmansey Scout Group’s next Group Lead Volunteer or do you know someone who might be interested? Email DLV@BandHScouts.org.uk to find out what the role involves and to express your interest or nomination. This is a great opportunity to shape a brand new group with lots of potential for growth and expansion.
A simple but powerful way to express gratitude! This award is open to any volunteer or young person who has made a difference—whether by organising an event, offering ongoing support, or simply being an unsung hero in our community.

Keep an eye on our upcoming Skills and Development Workshops! These are workshops requested by you to help upskill volunteers, making Scouting even more fun and even safer for those involved. Coming up, we’ve got risk assessments and risk registers workshops in October.

The team will give even more opportunities for young people across the District and further afield to try different water activities. Have you thought about having a Fencing session for your section? Our Fencing Team is taking session requests for Cubs, Scouts and Explorers. To book a session, please visit this link where you can find more information on the team and the form to complete the request.
If you are interested in Beavers or Squirrels taking part, you are welcome to also complete the form and we will review however at this time we are focusing on Cubs to Explorers.

1st Beverley (St Nicholas) proudly presented four Chief Scout Awards at their AGM on Tuesday, 17 June 2025. Ella received her Bronze Chief Scout Award, Angus and Sam received their Silver Chief Scout Awards and Ben received his Gold Chief Scout Award. Achieving the Chief Scout Award is a significant milestone in the journey of any Scout. These awards cannot be awarded from just attending regular Section nights; they represent dedication, perseverance, and a broad range of skills developed through active participation in Scouts, both on their Section night and at weekend events, activities and camps. Each level of the award challenges young people to push their boundaries, take on new responsibilities, and contribute meaningfully to their communities. To earn a Chief Scout Award, a variety of tasks must be completed, including outdoor adventures, personal development projects, community service, and skill-building activities. These experiences are designed to help Scouts grow in confidence, leadership, and resilience.
A Moment of Pride
One of the most rewarding aspects of achieving a Chief Scout Award is the sense of accomplishment and recognition. More than just a badge, receiving these awards is a moment to be proud of — for the Scout, their leaders, and their families. It shows that a Squirrel, Beaver, Cub, Scout or Explorer, has not only committed their time and effort, but has also demonstrated qualities like teamwork, responsibility, and initiative. … Congratulations!
